As our review on standing waves and harmonics, groups of students were given one of these noisemaker toys and tasked with developing a visual model to explain how and why the sound changes. I would love to teach a whole semester on the "Physics of Toys" someday... #iteachphysics

Making the parallel and perpendicular components of weight on a ramp a bit more tangible 😏 The tension forces from the hanging masses provide the equilibrium needed to remove the ramp altogether. 😮 #iteachphysics

Acabamos de demostrar que el ser humano sí fue a la Luna y medimos la aceleración de la gravedad allí usando Tracker. Amo mi trabajo #ITeachPhysics #Tracker

I was really happy with this review before tomorrow's circular motion test 😀 1. Draw a labeled force diagram 2. Assuming that net force is 100 N and weight is 30 N, calculate all other forces 3. Figure out which scenario doesn't work with these values 😏 #iteachphysics

If you have one of these wave machines and ever found that the rods fall out, you can buy rubber grommets to make sure they don't. Somehow this tipped over a few times in a week and it was annoying to reassemble. Never again! I can even hold it upside down. #iteachphysics

I loved watching groups discuss their way through this introduction to energy production today. Lots of thoughtful conversations driven by their previous experiences and awareness. #iteachphysics

Capacitors coming up in Y13. If you have a computing dept with BBC MicroBit - can visualise the charge and discharge of a capacitor in MS Excel using the Data Streamer add in (in office 365). Potentiometer allows you to change rate of flow of charge - endless fun #iteachphysics

We happen to be talking about Kinetic Energy this week, and I took the chance to remind my students why the mass and the velocity squared are both relevant to their life. Halloween is the deadliest day of the year for pedestrians. Please drive safe! #iteachphysics

How important is weight/normal force in a tug of war between two trucks with identical tires? Turns out, it's pretty important. 😉 Students did a great job coming up with explanations for this using their understanding of friction. #iteachphysics
