Keetie van Oosten-Hage was the first Dutch woman to break the hour record. She rode 43,082 km in 1978. Keetie told that she had only one weekend to do it: "On Friday we flew to Munich to break the record on Saturday. On Monday I had to show up at work again." Different times😅

New episode in my daily #HourRecordHistory stories: Jeanny Longo broke the hour record 6 times! The first one was in '86, the last time was in 2000. Her best effort on a traditional bike was 45,094 km. Yes, I will continue cycling but I'm not sure I'm going to do 6 attempts😅

Bridie O'Donnell set the bar at 46,882 km in 2016, Adelaide. Her pacing was phenomenal, one of the hardest parts of the hour record as you cannot see any data during your attempt. She added 609 meters to the record! #UCIHourRecord @Bridie_OD #HourRecordHistory

After an unsuccessful attempt in Manchester, Leontien van Moorsel broke Longo's record in Mexico City, 2003. The track was so bad that they had to restore the whole surface of the track before the attempt. 46,065 km is still the Dutch hour record. #HourRecordHistory #Tinus
