In the midst of cleaning up styles & file structures for the #HCDDesignGuideSeries, & rn #design does not seem beautiful. the studio is a bit grubby, & the hours of bug fixes & line weight nudges seem tedious, but when good light like this shows up👇🏼, I feel so inspired.

Update: my editor told me she “could tell you were tired [when you wrote this]” about the #HCDDesignGuideSeries section she just edited 😣😞😒 Ouch — my pride.

Today, back to content writing for the #HCDDesignGuideSeries. getting to reference one of my favorite works, @scottmccloud’s #UnderstandingComics, in discussing differences & interplay b/w text & images.

Being super confused on how to hide the Navigation from printing using the “[@]media” print tag. Want to just stack in my stylesheet the elements I want to hide, but it’s. not working. Anyone out there have thoughts? #cssprint #HCDDesignGuideSeries.

Just created a @jekyllrb environment to try @18F’s #WebDesignSystem template on the #HCDDesignPhaseGuide. Took .05% of the time it took me to build the @middlemanapp environment earlier this week, b/c #learning. Also, thanks for the documentation, @18F! #HCDDesignGuideSeries.

One of my core design values for the #HCDDesignGuideSeries is balancing #illustration & #text. I won’t write—>draw / lay out. I’ll do both in tandem. Reading @jensimmons’ rad work to try to combine the dignity of #text & the effervescence of #illustration.
