As always, I'm looking for more books to read to improve my GM skills, what would you recommend? I heard a lot of good things from Electric Bastionland by @bastionland, what do you think? #ttrpg #gmtips

In Fabula Ultima, they suggest separating a boss character in several distinct "statblock" while being narratively the same entity. It could work well for keeping the stake and difficulty high, while still manageable. How do you manage your boss battle? #ttrpg #gmtips

In my latest campaign of Forbidden Lands, I often asked my players to add to the world building. It led to really cool scenes and them being heavily invested in the world they helped create. GM of all, what is your stance on this subject? #gmtips #ttrpg

In my #ttrpg one-shot, I love to assign pre-gen characters during the session itself. I would usually ask "Who among you is..." followed by a character trait or action, I feel like it helps introduce characters smoothly while keeping the immersion going. #ttrpg #gmtips

I'm now a few weeks into my solo adventure with The One Ring. But sometime, I feel like I struggle to keep playing a game and not writing a novel. For all the #ttrpg solo player out there, what are your tips and tricks to keep yourself from being too predictable? #gmtips

Every time I feel like I figured out something about TTRPG design, I’m learning new things, so once more I’m re-diving into this most basic of topic: How to prepare a game session? What is your method? Any reading you’d recommend? #ttrpg #gmtips

Designing cool fights for players is always a fun challenge for any GM. Part of it is create cool opponents. For my Imperium Maledictum solo game, I added a faction of Adeptus Mechanicus called the Ion Guild, an ancient-japan-themed faction of cyborg samurai! #solottrpg #gmtips

Mothership is the latest of my obsession (among many others!) and it has one of the best GM guide! With a step-by-step guide on how to set up your scenario! With rules, tips and tricks added in the middle, plus tons of random table! Just brilliant! @MothershipRPG #trpg #gmtips

Speaking of small things big impact, here is the Telling Table from The One Ring Strider Mode (solo mode). From now on, even for non-solo game I will make sure to have one on hand. That is so useful! #ttrpg #gmtips

In most #ttrpg death is a tension management tool. What bigger consequence than death? But it doesn't mean you should remove the "dead" characters from the game. It can be instead that they are captured. There are many other ways of handling death How are you doing it ? #gmtips

When playing a solo #ttrpg I tend to be strict with the rules, make sure I'm playing fair, after all, it would be so easy to “cheat”. But sometimes it's ok to break the rules if it helps the game flow better or makes it more interesting! Same as when playing with a group! #gmtips

Imperium Maledictum from @cubicle7 centers the game around a patron, a powerful figure of the Imperium. Using their influence to deal with social situations is a cool idea, it helps bring depth to the game world and make the patron more than a quest giver. #ttrpg #gmtips

Chases are hard to play well. In Blade Runner from @FreeLeague_Pub, each party chooses their action (run, shoot, hide, etc..) then a random event is drawn, which can influence a specific type of action. It breaks the monotony of rolling dice again and again. #ttrpg #gmtips

World-building is always a delicate matter, as a GM/storyteller, how to you like the world-building in the #ttrpg you are playing? Vague with table to help you create your own, filled with already existing places and characters? #gmtips #worlbuiding

Retroactive Continuity, or Retcon in short, can be a useful tool for #ttrpg. With so many narrative events crafted on the go, it can help the coherency of the story, but it can also break the immersion. GMs of this place, what is your take on retcon? #ttrpg #gamedesign #gmtips
