My read on the $MYX.AX Mayne Takeovers Panel application - it is a (shrewd) move mostly marketed at FIRB/Chalmers - really the perfect avenue outside of direct lobbying - in that it highlights the exact weakness of Cosette's position (the abrupt change in behavior to attemp an
$MYX.AX: Apologies for the slew of desultory thoughts on this situation; but I thought I’d comment briefly on the Takeovers Panel application. There are two ways to read it: first, TP usually does not deal with schemes of arrangement, which is why it was slightly surprising /1

March 2024. 23 months for a SIGNED deed to fail thanks to FIRB. can’t say at which month I figured this was inevitable, probably 4 or 5 maybe 9 or 10. I kept a small amount in hope. $tpc.ax. I think I stayed in just for the lols. Kinda stoopid but there were lols.
$TPC.ax gone for somewhere between $11.73 and $16.89. Range due to possible franking credits and contingent payments. 12 months ago TPC was $2.64. I found it via a screener and tried to buy at $2.50. Got some at $4.40. Lesson learnt was don’t be stingy.

$MYX.AX just hitting the tapes...FIRB now pushed out to 14 Nov (ie the second possible extension but no further)...is this to craft a Salisbury remedy? Not exactly a huge delay... also super aggressive posturing on timeline from Mayne...they didn't include the actual payment

$BSL.AX : Arbitrage All I will say is a one and a half percent yield with an NBIO with dubious funding arrangements and a hyperactive FIRB is just a non-starter for me. Also it was prematurely broken by the media and then an announcement by $SGH.AX to try and give momentum. You

Lobbed 4 written questions at the 20 minute RPMGlobal (RUL) hybrid scheme meeting in Brisbane this morning. ACCC approval of the $1.1 billion Caterpillar takeover only came through last night & FIRB has asked for an extension until Jan 15. Here's the wrap

And now a local bidder (small but hey) is lobbing a bid for $MYX.AX...this is clearly some ginned up stalking horse to demonstrate (to Chalmers/FIRB) the asset has a ready market and would obviously not be closed in any scenario... looking pretty good for a backflip and FIRB
$MYX.AX very very strange development...5 days ago the final decision was being pushed out to Dec...now FIRB saying they are ready to rule by Nov7, or maybe Nov14...a date seemingly designed to meet the long stop date for the bid... https://t.co/0dIUtG26ch Call me dumb but once

ACCC : Updated Merger Guidelines If you are serious about arbitrage in Australia you should probably read the updated merger guidelines. I am on their email list for updates... ACCC and FIRB are the main regulatory barriers to acquisitions. https://t.co/1VUb9YnAqS

$SDI hit the corporate Powerball- a 56% premium is wild. It’s been ~22yrs since it traded at $1.40, since then it’s been plaque-building patiently… and now, boom — a gold-plated crown. Now mgmt prey that Albo/ FIRB don’t block this get out of jail card for long suffering holders

RPM Global CEO Richard Mathews reckons Caterpillar isn’t going to cut any jobs once the $1 billion all cash takeover of the Brisbane-based mining software company completes next year. Perhaps Jim Chalmers should make that a FIRB condition.

$NSR.AX: Arbitrage SID entered with Brookfield/GIC Very thin yield given the low likelihood of failure and the lack of a FIRB, ACCC risk. I am on an arbitrage holiday.

Exited $MYX.AX and taking the loss. Recent update, while doesn't close the door, seems like it won't receive FIRB approval. Merger arb is tough, can't size these large. On to the next one
