Escultura de copal. La pieza proviene del Templo Mayor de Tenochtitlan. El copal o copalli es una resina vegetal extradía de un árbol (copalcuahuitl) que los mexicas utilizaban en sus ritos, era quemada para producir humo el cual era un medio de comunicación con los dioses.

In Sept. 2019 I won rum cocktail competition without knowing it was one, the prize being a week at Copal Tree Lodge in Belize that next spring, where Copalli rum (delicious) is made. We all know what happened to travel in 2020, so Belize is still on my travel-goals list.
