It's Day-1 at the 🇰🇭 Climate Change Summit 2023 (CCCS23) taking place in Siem Reap. Key stakeholders & experts from around southeast Asia are engaged in high-level climate discussions, which are critical for achieving, among others, food security & sustainable development.

The international policy panel afterwards provided, what I thought, was the most hard news at #CCCS23. Sum Thy, acting director general of #Cambodia's Ministry of Environment's General Directorate of Policy and Strategy, said... Yes, his title was so long I made a new post.

H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, mentioned a plan to grow and distribute 2.5 million trees each year to people across Cambodia, free of charge, as a strategy to reforest the country! #CCCS23

Before the #CCCS23 panel discussion on "Green, Clean and Sustainable Initiatives", #OxfamKH engaged active #youthKH to explore how communities protect their forests. Youths also had an opportunity to plant trees in #SiemReap and donate study materials for students in #PreahVihea.
