Under AIWASI, a community-based ‘Tree Census’ in the neighbourhoods of Bakkarwala & Mubarakpur Dabas, Delhi, was introduced. The initiative witnessed residents taking lead in documenting #trees using simple mobile application and informing greening efforts. #WorldEnvironmentDay‌

On this #DayOfTheGirl, we celebrate empowering girls through meaningful initiatives. Senator Hon. Sue Lines, President of the Australian Senate, interacted with schoolgirls during her visit to a community in Delhi as part of Australia-India Water Security Initiative #AIWASI

💧Participants also learnt to create eco-bricks from plastic bottles & wrappers, and to compost kitchen waste. In the past, similar workshops taught residents how to segregate waste at source & formulate an organic bioenzyme. #AIWASI #WSUD #LivableNeighborhoods

Over 4 years, #AIWASI built a multi-stakeholder platform for collective action on water. As @JayaWRI , WRI India, said, "the demonstration phase ends, but the journey continues. Let’s turn learnings into policy for resilience for all." 💧

On #WorldHealthDay, 🇦🇺 marks its work to reduce the cause of mosquito borne diseases like dengue, malaria. Under 🇦🇺🇮🇳 Water Security Initiative #AIWASI, women & girls identified 🦟 breeding hotspots in a #Delhi community & worked with @tweetndmc to reduce disease carrying larvae.

Placing #women at the centre of development creates opportunities for communities to thrive. Under #AIWASI women have been taking the lead to advocate with govt authorities for better access to safe, clean & reliable #water. #IWD2024 #InspireInclusion #WomenofChange
