The way the Irish see the Championship as Sunday league standard always angers me, but makes me laugh too. It’s what’s expected tbf when 90% of the country supports Liverpool/Man Utd
12 of the 17 Irish players used against the Czech Republic play for clubs in a 2nd tier. For the Czechs, that number was zero. Ireland continue to be an outlier on the international front, with a player base in a single foreign nation + most in a 2nd tier.
