A prime example of “technically impressive UI, whilst being abysmal UX”. Why would obscure the key information with rEfRaCtIoNs making the key use of the application redundant. When you’re measuring angles of something, one of your axises is generally square.

At this point we have to accept that Liquid Glass has been a design failure. It's technically impressive UI, whilst being abysmal UX. It fails to fulfill it design goals, by being the anthesis of them. It's 2012 Apple Maps, with no discernible way to fix it bar turning it off.

Even in it's "highlighted examples" of desired implementation, Liquid Glass looks and functions badly. A change for the worse.

This seems to be a collection of well developed UI/UX being compromised with worse legibility and distracting visual elements, only to accommodate Liquid Glass – to zero benefit to the user. I don't think this gallery will have the effect they want it to. https://t.co/NRSRgEzikw

A "shire" is a county, not a small Hobbiton-style town or hamlet. Some subdivisions of counties (called wapentakes) also have "-shire" names, but they're still not "Hobbiton, The Shire". Also, The Shire in LOTR is estimated to have a population of 10,000 to 25,000 – not ~500.

Hertfordshire is a county with a population of 1.2 million people. Oxfordshire is also a county with a population of 3/4 million people. Neither are "shires" with populations of "500 people". The Domesday Book from 1086 records the population of Hertfordshire county being ~900.

Genuinely PowerPoint Live is the worst application I've ever used. Bravo to whoever convinced someone that this was ready to ship and done!

I used to think Powerpoint couldn't get any worse, then I used web-based Powerpoint – and I was shown it can get much, much worse.

This seems to be such a self-own, support for CarPlay is the most important feature for me in a vehicle purchase. No CarPlay, not interested in your vehicles.

What I would like to see in 26.1 b5
Finally, and many UI/UX designers called this the moment we saw Liquid Glass – it's a nice idea that fails in execution. I still want more granularity in these options, and a distinct "off" for Liquid Glass. I stand by my prediction that Liquid Glass is gone by the 27 OSes.

Is it fair to say that Liquid Glass has been a spectacular misstep in UI/UX design for Apple?

Genuinely shocked we’re here at beta 5, this not ready to ship next month as a solved UI design. Basic UI/UX usability is being failed here. Simply Liquid Glass needs adjustment sliders, allow the user to decide if legibility is important. First Apple OS I wish I could skip.
