Out of all the things @TigerWoods has done in his career, today was the greatest lesson for all junior golfers out there that he’s ever given. That finish after the 10 on 12 was self control at the highest level!!

Well, the PGA tour as we’ve known it for so long is being forced to change. I know that many have different opinions about all that’s going on, how does everyone feel about it? I was taught to not bite the hand that’s fed me. Loyalty is a thing of the past I guess.

Reflecting back on my career, if I hit a million balls in practice, I wish I would’ve hit half as many balls and taken twice as many practice swings without a ball. The ball owns you because you need a result and in a practice swing your mind is open to change!!!

I’m pleased to announce that on June 30th, I’m starting a brand new program called Let’s Talk Golf. Let's Talk Golf is going to focus entirely on the mental game. I'm going to teach you how I made a living thinking my way around the course and winning 14 times on the PGA Tour.

Let me be very clear, I’m so happy for Cameron Smith winning the TPC and I hope he surpasses me in wins. He’ll continue to see the locker and I won’t. I was just trying to help young golfers make a high percentage decision when leading by several strokes.

Hey Cameron, you’ll need one more to match your locker mate. The next time you get to 18 with a three shot lead, leave the driver in the bag. Less drama and easier on you.

After 5 years of teaching I can’t believe how little I knew about the swing while playing 22 years on the @PGATOUR . I don’t think I was an isolated case either. I don’t think many of my peers knew a lot about the swing but we knew a lot about playing golf.

If I had my career to do over again, I would learn to hit it hard first and straight later. I learned straight first and that is a mindset that is hard to change to where you can swing hard. I think golf is a mindset to a large degree after you are entrenched in it.

A little piece of advice for parents: kids don’t know fear on the golf course when they start. We as adults introduce them to it. As they advance, let them make those mistakes that look like it’s too risky. Playing golf without fear is the goal.

There is no set way to swing a club. What works for you is what’s best. We have to finally decide when that’s the best way. Are you there yet? The question we all face everyday. I’ll ad one more thing, there is only your perfect golf swing, find it and live with it.

Something for young players: I’m not sure I was talented at the game in the beginning. I just worked really hard at a young age and talent showed up. I question whether it was talent or hard work. Hard work makes talent reveal itself. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

I spent most of my formative years in golf, alone on the course or practice area, getting to know the game I love. I wonder if kids today can stand to be alone enough to get to know this game intimately. I’m sure that the majority of great players did the same.

Golf is such a personal game. You have your own equipment, hopefully fit to your swing. Your own bag and your putter better be your best friend. It’s your personal journey to see how good you can become. No one can hold you back if you want it bad enough. Commitment is the answer

Can YIPS we defeated? YES!! I lost my card in 1993 because I had the driver yips. It always starts with a technical flaw that then turns into a mental issue. First, go see someone that can find the flaw. Second, lower your expectations while retraining your brain.

We recommend to younger players that have a good swing but aren’t scoring, to move up to forward tees so that they can go low. They start to think they are suppose to score low regardless of the tee they play. Would this be a good idea for you?

Pre shot routine is one of the most important things in golf. Make decisions behind the ball: club selection, wind, downhill, uphill, break line, etc. Once you step up to the ball commit to the decisions you’ve made and don’t de-commit. Many de-commit, trust your decisions!!

The trend in golf here in the US is to make it as hard and long as we can and conquer it with distance. It’s killing the avg player so moving up a tee or two helps you play better, faster and enjoy the game. Feeling better about yourself as a golfer is a good thing

Pre shot routine is one of the most important things in golf. While behind the ball make decisions-club selection, wind, downhill, uphill, break line, etc. Once you step up to the ball commit to the decisions you’ve made and don’t de-commit. Many de-commit, trust your decisions!!

I’ve heard people say that if you would’ve changed Jim Furyk’s golf swing when he was young he wouldn’t have made it. Wrong!!! He was great because of all the things you can’t see like his heart, mind, discipline, will to compete, etc, He would’ve been great with any swing.

Pretty spectacular what Charlie Woods did with his dad this past weekend!! @TigerWoods understands the value of Charlie just having fun and falling in love with the game. Dad must’ve been very proud and those memories will be with them both for a lifetime.

Where do you have more to gain in your golf game? From buying the latest and greatest driver every year….. or from improving your mental game?
