Crazy day on the bike! Raced in mud/trails like that a few times in my life, but usually for ~25km of XCO, not 105km of marathon. I thought the part of me that loved XCO died, but maybe it's that the XCO I loved (natural+raw tech) has migrated to a different discipline now

Due to a navigation error, I double passed (but with apologetic friendliness) a fellow cyclist on the bike path today. He on his road bike, me on my MTB. On the second pass, he asked if my MTB was an e-bike... The confidence boost I didn't know I needed 😎

5th at Leadville 100 today. On paper that’s worse than last year’s 3rd BUT: - I was 20 min faster this year - PR’d all 11 major segments Just a reminder that an objective result isn’t the only measure of success. Given my current form, today was a MAJOR win!
It’s go time! Call ups are underway at the Stages Cycling Leadville Trail 100 MTB. Gun goes off in just about 10 minutes!
