Tonight I attended the Brecknock YFC meeting, where I was privileged to be asked to deliver chair training based on my 25 years of chairing meetings in local government. I really enjoyed giving an insight into what the role of Chair entails and sharing the knowledge I’ve gathered

Out and about this evening checking and clearing drains. Been up Forest Road as far as the farm to make sure everything’s flowing freely — all clear and ready for the heavy rain due tomorrow. Have also been around towns at hot spots. 🌧️ #YourCouncillor #Hay

I’ve just come back from the Warren — and it’s heartbreaking to see how much rubbish has been left behind.I took away four full bags of waste this evening. That’s not okay. If you can carry it there full, you can carry it back empty.

Hard to believe pre-season is already here! Feels like we’ve only just wrapped up the last games—two matches to officiate this week in serious heat. Definitely sweated off a few pounds! It was a tough one, but it’s all about getting the fitness back up and ready for the season.

Pre-season starts for me this Friday, and after today’s Central Wales FA summer training day at Newtown FC, I’ve realised I might need a bit more fitness before the season kicks off! Great to catch up with fellow referees from across the central region.

Spent a couple of hours tidying up by the old library and down Brook Street today. Ran out of time before I could finish, but I’ll be back to wrap it up as soon as I can.

Sunday morning job done — cleared the overhanging brambles along the path from the church to town, so no one should lose an eye! Off out for some family time now — enjoy the rest of your day, everyone.

Attending WLGA conference. Excellent breakout session on Voluntary Youth Workers in Wales. Makes me so proud of what we have achieved in Hay with the youth club. An amazing team of volunteers making a difference to the young people of Hay and the surrounding area.

Temporary fix to tap in Hay cemetery. Please don’t use this for now. Use tap at top of cemetery. It’s been reported and I have followed up with @PowysCC

Lovely evening, so I popped out to do a bit of street tidying. Cleared the weeds by the factory and made sure the drains are clear—ready for winter!

Tonight’s job: out cleaning signs. The only trouble is… you start with one, and then you just can’t stop! One sparkly sign leads to another and suddenly it’s a full-blown mission. 😅 I’m sure I missed loads of them, but at least it’s a start and the town’s looking brighter

Another sunny Monday morning out with the broom! 🧹☀️ Cleaned up from the mart down past the church — lovely to chat with residents along the way. Great start to the week! 🌼👋

A brilliant evening of bingo at the RBL Hub! The room was full of good fun, laughter, and a great community spirit. Some lucky tables went home with the prizes, but everyone enjoyed the buzz and banter. Next bingo night is on Saturday 21st June at 7.30pm. Mark your calendars

What fun at Hereford raceway last week. Took a group from Hay youth club go karting. Got to have a quick go hence my smiling face. It was amazing seeing all the smiles on those young people’s faces. Didn’t matter what speed they did it in they all took the most from it.
