V pleased to reach this point. Recognising the need to engage with scientists/infrastructure providers from all corners of the world, doors now open for broader membership. This will improve coverage/services, help sustain activities and build greater equity in sci data sharing.
The @ENASequence is truly delighted to have worked with it's partners and build this new membership program. New members will bring a truly global perspective to the INSDC and help work towards more equaitable open data sharing in genomics.

It’s important that biodata resources provide data openly, but raises challenges when assessing impact. In a blog, I suggest opportunities: providers into the data value chain (e.g. of data resources, tools , standards, etc.) will benefit from sharing impact stories.
In his latest blog, GBC Executive Director, @guyrcochrane , shares his thoughts on the challenges of assessing the impact of the global biodata resource infrastructure. #globalbiodata #openscience

Very happy to have this paper out @MicrobioSoc as it represents a lot of effort for everyone here @ENASequence and @emblebi. It describes the tools and services built during the pandemic and reflects on how we might better respond for future pandemics

Many thanks to our 2023 expert review panel and chair, @bffo, the team at @globalbiodata, especially @RachelDrysdale4 and @daverocarr, and our supportive Member funding organisations.
The GCBRs provide an essential data foundation for the life sciences, both directly to users and as data providers to more specialised topic-focused resources. GCBR leaders work with @globalbiodata to explore, and drive towards, greater sustainability for biodata resources.

Biological data cross borders as part of their sharing and usage cycles. In a blog I look at the mix of data import, export and self-use for one biodata type.
In his latest blog, Guy Cochrane examines the free flow of data across borders. https://t.co/L67Y9y5XEf

And interesting use by Débora Raposo and team of the @globalbiodata #GCBR.
Policy piece from the DSI Scientific Network - value of country tagging of data records, but unsuitability for tracing absolute value chains in the context of benefit sharing.
