I feel like people are missing the forest here Cause like sure there's plot reasons for it but its still a game design decision. Someone CHOSE to skip 17 ranks of your game. Its the designer's work to make it so that the ranks feel satisfying OR that this skip feels natural.
Vinnie skips you the ranks because he knows you're way out of everyone's league and gets you into the real meat of the game battling with megas Would you rather fight glup shitto nobody trainers for another 10 hours without access to megas😭😭
