I’m taking a break from twitter. These people are giving me high blood pressure. If it ain’t the Africans, it’s the West Indians, the South Asians, the East Asians, the Latinos, the Whites, the Native Americans, the LGBTQI...+, the Boules....

@tmj4 Why is a Nigerian, someone who is likely a descendant of the very same people who sold my Black American ancestors into slavery, being honored on Juneteenth — a holiday that has absolutely nothing to do with Nigerians/ Nigerian-American beyond the initial sale of my ancestors?

Last night, I made a breakthrough with my mom who loves Obama. While Biden was speaking I said, “You know, Biden’s son was a huge crackhead for years but he never went to prison -he’s made millions using family hook-ups, while our cousins with drug problems are still suffering.”

1st/2nd gen. black immigrants who got into Ivy League schools using AA never intended for them — who never cared that almost none of their “black” classmates were ADOS (because according to them “ak*tas have a victimhood mentality”) — now expect BAs to care about the end of AA?

@Variety My question to @idriselba : Is it not racist to assert that a foreign black actor is better equipped to portray a Black American character telling a Black American story rooted in a Black American lived experience than an actual Black American U.S. chattel slavery descendant?

The vast majority of Africans replying to this post are calling us Black Americans egotistical, dumb illiterates when the writers of Tyla’s song “Butterflies” are not South African at all — but westerners: one black American, one black Brit, and one white American… Nolan…

BAs must start leaning into our family stories of overcoming just like immigrants do. Over the years I’ve taken my mom to the dentist countless times. Because my mom had grown up without running water, she had not been able to brush her teeth regularly until she attended college.

Malcolm X’s parents moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1921 -the year the KKK was reborn in that state. Because his parents were outspoken against racial injustices, they often faced threats of violence. Meanwhile, Ernest Buffett, Warren Buffett’s grandfather, was living it up in Omaha.

Imagine being out in the Texas countryside cleaning your family cemetery where your relatives have been buried from the time of slavery to read a tweet by a disrespectful Nigerian telling me that the United States is not my country. I’m tired of these disrespectful ingrates.

“We all black!” “Police don’t care that Michael B. Jordan isn’t from Trinidad and Tobago!” “As black people we all experience the same oppression under the system of global white supremacy, so we should stop being so divisive and support Michael B. Jordan.” 😇
Michael B. Jordan owns rum made in Trinidad? (I’m assuming “those same islands” mean Trinidad and Tobago? idk chile)

I’m tired of pan-Africanists propagating this myth that a large numbers of slaves were constantly shuffled back and forth between the Caribbean and the USA. This isn’t true. Buying slaves in the U.S. was very expensive so in most cases, white planters actively “bred” their own.

Karen Bass is working to secure 2 million dollars in ear marks to help preserve the “Little Ethiopia” community in her district. You notice how there was no push-back against black immigrants for demanding resources for their community? The response was, “Already on it.”

Three years ago, Ben Carson referred to African-Americans shipped as property from Africa to the United States as immigrants, and he was swiftly condemned throughout the nation for doing this. Yesterday, Barack Obama did the exact same thing, and no one has said a word.
