I can't find the tweet now, but someone suggested <model> was a way to own the Metaverse. 1. If you wanted to own something why would you try to develop it as an open standard that works with other technologies? 2. I don't know what the Metaverse is.

Note: - I'm not trying to start an argument. - I log into Twitter at most once a month, so there is definitely a lot of conversation that I haven't seen. - I have no idea what I'm talking about, for any subject.

People talking about the risk of browser monoculture… I wonder what would happen if Chrome forked into 3 teams, no shared code going forward, and each competed as a separate browser with different feature priorities. Maybe that would be helpful for the Web?

Have you been having out-of-memory issues with canvas elements on iOS? I'd love feedback on how to best address the problem (I've given a few options):

Since there have been a few questions: "remote" is not limited to the USA. Anywhere on Earth is ok and, as I said elsewhere, other celestial bodies for exceptional candidates. We might draw the line at the multiverse.

BTW, this position for Apple's WebKit 3D graphics (WebGL/GPU/XR/🎨/etc) engineer is open to remote employment 🏠🏢. And to repeat: we would love to see diversity of applicants, and you don't necessarily need a lot of experience. https://t.co/n2AI66zGpa

As always, we'd love to see diversity in our applicants. And we're open to all levels of experience - you don't need to be a 10+ year C++ graphics guru. Curiosity and enthusiasm go a long way.

Surely people who miss-spell "colour" as "color" should also miss-spell "blue" as "ble". #csscolor5

Please try to avoid gating functionality on the string name of a GPU/vendor. You're locking out users who, in the future, get better hardware that doesn't match the name. There is always better hardware coming, and content is rarely updated. https://t.co/0S0qCfY5Kt

This explains our thinking around <model> more than the "explainer" did.

WebGL 2 is enabled in yesterday's iOS/macOS/etc Safari releases. Also, everything is now running on top of Metal via ANGLE. Please test + measure your content and report bugs.
