I was already to leave here and then Bob Dylan starts posting about Nick Cave. That doesn't happen in the other place.
Saw Nick Cave in Paris recently at the Accor Arena and I was really struck by that song Joy where he sings “We’ve all had too much sorrow, now it the time for joy.” I was thinking to myself, yeah that’s about right.

I hear it takes a few tries to quit smoking, why should the bad habit of twitter be any different? I think it is time to move on. Please look for me over at the other place (for now) @gregorytaylor.bsky.social

Glad I stuck around on here to see this. As the push to end the @CBC becomes more of a political reality and less of a slogan, our broadcaster needs to remind us of what it's done and why it matters.
There were over 2 million visits to food banks in Canada in 2024 — the highest number in history. This Holiday season, CBC is asking for your help. Every act of kindness - one dollar, one can of food, or one hour of your time can make a tremendous difference to Canadians in

That's pretty good. But I'm a sucker for telecom policy humour.

Will it really be so momentous? Perhaps from an historical perspective but not when you factor in the people involved. I would be more surprised if this administration respected court orders.
There will come a day – it might be as soon as January it might be later – when the Trump administration will make the momentous decision to ignore a court order. They will be excited, they will be nervous, they will be sick to their stomachs. But once it is done, and they have

Getting ready to close up shop on this platform (again). Trying the sky is blue social media. Let's hope it works - I used to like this place. See you over there?

Certainly not the main reason for the loss but I had little time for those who stuck with Trump after the "good people on both sides" Nazi rally and turned on him only when they were fired. They were given far too much air time.
When you've lost Jen Psaki! PSAKI: "There was an over listening to and an over lifting up of people who left Trump, not people who left the Democratic Party...The people who left Trump, the never Trumpers, who have important voices, that is not the winning coalition."

As is custom, the left fighting among itself has begun in earnest.

Two things clear this US voting day: Harris and Walz ran a great campaign under enormous pressure. And, despite running the worst campaign I've ever seen and being a convicted felon, the fact Trump is still a strong possibility shows the U.S. has enormous challenges ahead.

I like Harris even more since she met Bon Jovi and said "my husband is a big fan of yours".

Happy to see this out in the Hill Times today. Forgive the rather large photo of Elon. Not my idea.

Policymakers must resist the temptation to throw up their arms in frustration, or—worse—leave the entire problem to the whims of Elon Musk.

Twice today received the same video in my feed of a woman supposedly being attacked by a recent immigrant, her honour defended by a passing white guy. Exact same video from apparently two different locations at different times. Elon is really pushing the fear of immigrants here
