Very interesting thought. The single biggest issue I have faced in public school education is behavior in the classroom. Nothing can get done in the classroom with poorly behaved or disrespectful students, so if separating the sexes would improve that. I'm in 100%.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that, at least for K-8, schools should be segregated by sex. Thoughts?.

Yes! I completely agree. When I trained my teams (for years) I used various rep schemes. Also, I adopted what I called "best value" lifts because it was football training. In other words - why front squat when you can squat? why deadlift when you can hex deadlift? And more.
Using more complicated rep schemes does not make the workout better. Each exercise does not have to have a completely different set-rep scheme. There is nothing wrong with this:. Box Jump 3x5.Front Squat 3x5.DB Bench 3x10.DB Row 3x10.

Easily my favorite post from you. This is so true too. I’ve been observed for 24 years as a teacher, and I understand why it has to be done. But, great administrators always know how to treat great teachers. Or good teachers…or even average teachers.
Here's why I'm never stressed about my class being observed:. Today, I was observed, and it was mostly a work day, and it's snowing outside, and we're two days away from Spring Break, so it was, by my standards, messy and loud. Class ends and what do I hear from the observer?.

1. Hoosiers.2. Mississippi Burning.3. Crimson Tide.4. The French Connection.5. No Way Out.
My 5 favorite Gene Hackman movies (in no particular order):. Superman.Superman II.No Way Out.The Firm.Crimson Tide. I know people will kill me for not having Hoosiers on the list. It’s arguably his best performance, but if I’m channel surfing and it’s on, I probably keep going.

Why aren't cheetahs used for any high school or college mascots? I don't get it. Cheetahs are the fastest animal on land. and they are cool. We have lions, tigers, bears, wolves, cougars, panthers, jaguars, and even bobcats but no cheetahs. #MakeCheetahsGreatAgain.

You’re one of my favorite new follows because we are going to be agreeing and arguing A LOT.
Want to know how bad the overreliance on tech in the classroom has become?. Parents complain when they get calls about their kid's poor attendance because, with everything posted online anyway, their kids are still getting good grades. Many teachers are making themselves.

1. Quick film review on Saturday mornings is all you need during the season. 2. Most indy football drills are worthless. 3. Track doesn’t do anything to make players faster or better…and speed matters are worthless. 4. Refs absolutely determine outcomes of games…and often.

Slightly disagree. Things K-12 schools need less of: .-mental health programs & professionals .-progressive education practices.-state tests . Things K-12 need more of: .- power to permanently remove a student .- laptops/technology of all kinds.- playground/P.E. equipment.
Things K-12 schools need less of:.-technology/devices.-learning apps.-mental health programs & professionals .-progressive education fads . Things K-12 need more of:.-physical books .-playground/P.E. equipment .-paper, pencils, whiteboards.-teachers trained in cognitive science.

RT @JamesAFurey: Removing chronically disruptive students from classrooms isn't cruel--it is necessary for preserving the learning environm….

Every single class period, there are 2-3 students who have lost the privilege of being in the classroom with nondisruptive students. After they have gone through a max of 5 disruptive situations, they should be placed in their own school. We can't punish the kids w/ good behavior.
Every teacher knows which 2–3 students could be removed from their classroom and drastically improve the learning environment for everyone else. However, no one advocates for their removal because it clashes with the ethos of misguided empathy that dominates modern education.

There is NOTHING in education more important than this. If I leave this profession, it will be 100% because of this.

Hey @KirkHerbstreit …Oregon is just getting outclassed here. (No knock on Oregon though…right?). It’s almost like this kind of thing happens in football. Weird. My son and I loved hearing you call games and on CGD. Now….hard to even look at you.
