If you are going to site NBC pay as a problem after I choose a conference for ND to join, then you can’t demand that ND join any conference. The NBC contract would be an even bigger issue with other conferences that have existing TV deals.
I wouldn’t mind this. Kills the small conference bid and frees up another at large playoff spot. But good luck getting NBC to pay your TV contract then.

People saying Notre Dame needs to join a conference should think it through. If they joined the AAC, their schedule would be easier and the playoff path would be a cakewalk. You do not want Notre Dame in a conference. You just do not like Notre Dame.

Notre Dame dropped 2 CFP ranking spots following a 49-20 win at Stanford and no 13th game. Alabama gained 1 spot following a 27-20 win at Auburn and a 28-7 loss to Georgia. ND was penalized for a 27-24 loss at Miami in Week 1. Bama's 31-17 loss to FSU in Week 1 didn't matter.

This is a good joke. What makes it good is that it illuminates the fact that what is poverty to some is wealth to others. Poverty used to mean homeless and soup kitchens. Now? It means only 1 family trip to Disneyland this year.
There’s a popular newsletter going around claiming that the poverty line is actually closer to $140,000 for a family of 4. This is outrageously incorrect. It’s probably closer to $390,000 when you factor in the cost of a Porsche GT3.
