I just don’t think people realize how much work goes into every single one of these issues. Focusing only on recent bumps in the road does a disservice to the many people who are working incredibly hard to protect the rights of Bitcoin users in the US.

Is self custody still under attack? Yes, for sure. That’s one of the biggest reasons we started BPI in the first place. But did the Digital Asset Anti-Money Laundering Act pass (which would have been a de facto ban on self custody)? No! That is a huge win in and of itself.

Did the P2P Rights Fund keep the Samourai Wallet founders out of prison? No, and I feel horrible about it. But we knew we couldn’t guarantee success, and we made that clear from the beginning. Did you ever stop and wonder why BPI had to stand up its own legal defense fund to

Did we get a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve? Yes! Does the US have the 1M BTC we want them to have yet? No, and that’s frustrating. But it is only August of 2025. The SBR didn’t even exist 6 months ago. The work isn’t done.

Insane amounts of winning over the last year+ and then a couple things don’t go our way (which sucks!) and now people are freaking out. How quickly people forget what life was like just 18 months ago. Take a second; look at how far we’ve come. Don’t take it for granted.
