To me it just feels so transactional. It also kind of suggests that the solution is for the wife to “give into” the husband’s pleading because she’s “depriving” him. That doesn’t sound like a mutually consensual situation done out of reciprocal enjoyment.

Whenever someone (usually a man) complains that their partner (usually a woman) is “withholding” sex from them, it tells me a lot about their dynamic. Sex isn’t seen as a cooperative expression of passion/affection/etc. but rather a resource, “gatekept” and one-sided in desire.

Also there are so many feminists who just pick up a few quotes from the 80s and then start telling other people what feminism is definitively. No investigation, no right to speak!

Anyone interested in feminism should take the time to study its history, the different branches, and the major debates between them. Too many just throw on the label like it’s a social club.

It takes nothing away from feminism to acknowledge how transmisogyny works. It enriches it actually! And the concept of a universal Woman needs to be abandoned ASAP.

There are people out there who seem to sincerely think that trans women are engaging in some sort of “cultural appropriation” of Womanhood™️ whenever they rightfully name the violence they face as misogyny.
