We actually learned about this in my Dermatology class last week. There are 2 types of sunscreens, physical and chemical. The one this girlie is using is a physical sunscreen, works immediately, leaves a white cast, UV rays bounce from it (acts as a shield basically)

So it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s “bad” , it just has its target audience.. mostly people that play sports. Chemical sunscreen however is absorbed into your skin, it takes about 20 minutes to start being effective but it leaves no white cast (black girl friendly basically 😅)

We’re fully aware that Physical sunscreens can be absorbed a little too, I mean its a skin product at the end of the day so that’s quite obvious lol 😅 and “settle like makeup” makes absolutely NO SENSE omg 😭it’s a liquid product that is meant to be reapplied often 🤦🏽♀️

On black skin it will ALWAYS show if you use a physical sunscreen though. Even if it’s not fully white cast, but you’ll literally look purple. Physical sunscreens will always make us look “ashy” I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad sunscreen. I think she just used a large amount

DermOpal is my babe so far! SunSkin came to show us some of their products last week too and I liked their range of chemical sunscreens. My only problem is that it leaves piles on the skin (that rubbery flaky texture) but they have a good chem sunscreen that you can spray on 🙌🏽!
