Summer is college tour time at Give Back. Campus Tours give students a chance to see what life on a campus is like and can help them decide which of our partner colleges is right for them. Our Illinois High School students had the chance to visit Illinois State University.

Program Director Shantel Stephenson jumped into action to turn those lemons into lemonade. She quickly put together an outing for the students and their families to go to the local arcade for fun, food and laser tag.

Minnesota is the newest state to have a Give Back chapter. Minnesota is known as the land of 10,000 lakes and the start of the Mississippi River, so water plays a key part in people’s summer activities. There are also great trails, camping and much more to do outdoors.

It may surprise you that New Jersey offers such a wide range of scenic and recreational activities. New Jersey is home to Give Back’s headquarters, but also home to our second largest group of students with about 250 currently in High School or College.

Although it’s a big and crowded city, Washington DC also has lots of open green space and lots to do on a nice summer day. DC Program Manager Josiah Meekins shares just a few of the photo’s he’s taken while he’s out and about in the city.

Sometimes “exotic” summer escape is just a car ride away. Give Back staff members Jennifer Werner recently took a trip to visit tropical reefs and South American River Basins with a visit to the famous Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.

Summer time is a great time to get away with the family. Illinois Program Director Kelsey Novack and her family travel to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan a handful of times a year to a family camp.

One thing about NYC is it's never boring! There's always something to do and people to meet - Making it a great college/networking town. Coney Island is a big hit - Home of "Nathan's Famous International Hotdog Eating Contest" & the New York Aquarium.
