After what he’s been through in the past year, there’s probably no one who wanted to talk about his own health less than John. I’m so proud of him for asking for help and getting the care he needs.
Friends, thank you to everyone who has sent good wishes our way during this hectic time 💕 We are happy to share that there are no signs of a stroke 🙏🏽 the amazing doctors & staff
@GWHospital
continue monitoring and I’m so grateful to them and to all of you.
We can do hard things when we do them together ❤️ so proud of João, the kids, and everyone who’s shared their own struggles with us in the past few weeks. It gets better.
I am not really sure how to navigate this journey but am figuring it out slowly. 1 week ago today when the news dropped, the kids were off from school and media trucks circled our home. I did the first thing I could think of … pack them in the car and drive.
Thank you for sharing your personal challenges and being so vulnerable with us over the past couple of days. This one felt really important to pass on 💕🫶🏼💌
This is a difficult time for our family, so please respect our privacy. For us, the kids come first.
Take care of yourselves. Hold your loved ones close, you are not alone.❤️
The gentleman driving my Uber home from the airport who is an immigrant from Tajikistan gave me the most thoughtful and prideful tour of Pittsburgh and I could not bear to tell him I live here.

“How can we become more empathetic, more responsive, and more effective senators?
In the worst moments of our lives, women are told it's their fault. In case you need to hear it today: It's. Not. Your. Fault.
I will keep living and fighting with love. We all need more of it. 💘💘
As the spouse of an elected official and really just as an immigrant, I have an inbox full of horrible messages, at all times. Recently, I began sharing them on my Instagram stories because keeping them inside hurts more. Also because this can happen ⤵️💕
Society's expectations and traditional gender roles play a part in why men are less likely to discuss or seek help for their mental health. As always, John continues to challenge the conversation. So human, so kind, so cute. 🥰❤️
Productive morning with Senator Fetterman at Walter Reed discussing the rail safety legislation, Farm Bill and other Senate business. John is well on his way to recovery and wanted me to say how grateful he is for all the well wishes. He’s laser focused on PA & will be back soon.
finally capture it after the crying winded down. This behavior and this hatred is taught. If you know her, if she is your neighbor or relative, please, please teach her love instead.
August is getting a haircut and I’m eves-dropping on his conversation: “Are you excited for Thanksgiving? Is mom a good cook? Do you help her?” … August (trying to whisper): “mom is a terrible cook - Like really really bad … but she’s super nice”
We also talked about how joy and fun can and must still exist, even when someone we love is in pain. And tomorrow? Who knows. Will try all over again. ❤️
*TRIGGER WARNING* I love love love this country but we are so deeply divided. I ran to the local grocery store and was met by and verbally assaulted by this woman who repeatedly told me I do not belong here. The confrontation continued into the parking lot where I was able to
Good morning to everyone except those making life more difficult for someone with a disability - like myself (ADHD) or the 26 million other Americans living with a permanent or temporary disability. 🤗❤️
“Banned books and burning books are the same. Both are done for the same reason. Fear of knowledge. Fear is not freedom. Fear is not liberty. Fear is control.” Thank you, Miss Grace! 😭📚
‘Fear is not freedom. Fear is not liberty. Fear is control’ — The 100-year-old widow of a WWII veteran compared her Florida county’s efforts to ban certain books to Nazi Germany
We did some scary things but we did them together. We ziplined over Niagara Falls and August got stuck 🫠. We talked about flexibility and the need to always have an open heart and an open mind.
We drove straight into … Canada (and lovely Buffalo NY) (Pro Tip: always have passports ready just in case you have to run away 😅) We talked about lots of hard things and how we will all have to face hard things. About the need to be gentle … with all and with ourselves.
When
@JohnFetterman
said he had a surprise, surely I thought he meant Funyuns were back on sale ... but alas, here we are ❤️ my favorite person exploring this journey and I’m proud to be here, editing his head out of things, every step of the way.
An honest question for you,
@Mike_Pence
, after your attempted joke this weekend. If your grandchild was born prematurely and placed on a ventilator at two months old - their tiny fingers wrapped around yours as the monitors beep in the background - where would you be?
Please trust me when I say that late is always better than never. ❤️ Very grateful the boys had the opportunity for a redo on that much anticipated birthday celebration. 🎂
Just met Miss Linda in a rest stop restroom and she has her first date today since losing her husband over a decade ago. She was so nervous and was trying to apply makeup and asked for help. Go Miss Linda, rooting for you! ❤️🥹

Pennsylvania, being your SLOP has been an immense honor and I am so grateful for all the good we’ve accomplished together and all the fun we’ve had together. Excited to follow and support my friend, Blayre Holmes Davis, as she enters the role of Second Lady next. ❤️
I think the culmination of everything we’ve lived and overcome these past two years just hit me all at once, as I watch João’s first vote 😭 Be still this heart of mine 💕
Graduated spouse orientation 🤓 and I can’t say enough about how kind and welcoming absolutely everyone has been. Also all the encaustic tiles … it’s a mosaic artist’s dream. 🤩
This was one of my favorite conversations about everything from the pressure on women to say everything is fine, to mental health to dealing with haters and everything she has been through (and all she has given back) the rest will air on Sunday at 12pm
🌺 grateful for 1️⃣ flowers blooming 2️⃣the 🚒 balloon João found at the NEX 3️⃣ normalized conversations around mental health 4️⃣ growing and learning - together. Blooming flowers always 🟰hope.
A fourth grader, a seventh grader and a high school freshman (who would never 📸… ) Have a great year, little loves. (Currently crying in my car and listening to Landslide on repeat) 🥹❤️
