- sue, who sticks by her family and retains the love and warmth in her life, whereas shalla-bal lost hers and became a cold, sterile, lonely being. her place in the story is so relevant to the themes of the movie overall in a way you just couldn't get with norrin radd. (2/2).

norrin absolutely would not have worked in this story. there could still be the connection with johnny if they decided to make him queer (which i would have lived for) but even then i think there was too juicy of a contrast between the 2 mothers in this film to miss out on. (1/2).
Actually so pleased with how #FantasticFour handled Silver Surfer. This movie using the Shalla-Bal version actually improved the narrative which is wild, like I don’t think her role would have felt as impactful if it was Norrin-Radd.

it's gotta be hard to fuck up a movie when it's full of so many great characters but between the production chaos, fragile concepts like the multiverse and anchor beings, and m*chael w*ldron's hands on the script i just can't have high confidence.
