I stopped reading male-centric fantasy DECADES ago. It’s all the same boring recycled slop nobody wants anymore. Give me Tamora Pierce, T. Kingfisher, Rachel Hartman, Guadalupe Garcia McCall, Yoon Ha Lee… so much good stuff you haven't already read 1000 versions of!
Happened to be in Target again and decided to check in on the “Fantasy” section. Unlike last year, any male-centric fantasy is nowhere in sight. It’s all Chick Lit and Booktok slop. Modern publishing hates male readers
