I’m pro roundabout, especially given the new development that wil occur at UNMC. This section of Farnam is residential, and infrastructure should prioritize pedestrians. Roundabouts slow traffic compared to four way lights, full stop.
Mode Shift supports the roundabouts on Farnam Street. ✅ We encourage members and elected leaders to support resolution 48 tomorrow at City Council. https://t.co/7sPTfOkNnf

Not gonna lie, we are disappointed not to be awarded this important work. But we're here to celebrate this milestone for our home community and endorse the forward momentum the City of Omaha is making. Best of luck to all involved!

By a slim margin, the Omaha City Council voted Tuesday to move forward with a $376,000 proposal with a Minnesota company to spearhead the creation of the city’s climate action

Fun interview at @PlanningOmaha's open house last night. Omaha needs abundant housing. 🏘️ "Thomas said she'd like to see the city allow for more townhouses, duplexes, and multi-family homes, as opposed to single-family units. She wants to see these ideas put into action."
The City of Omaha is giving residents a chance to speak their minds on how it should move forward on a proposed solution. #Omaha #Nebraska

Actual question: Why are climate advocates resistant to including smart growth policies as a part of their toolkits? How do we make the connection clearer between transportation emissions and housing?

Housing should be available the same way food should be - without lines, at various price points, with options appropriate for everyone’s cultures and lifestyles.

Very excited to spend the next three days in Portland with fellow housing advocates at the @YIMBYtown conference. Our goal? To create housing in our communities that is diverse, plentiful, and accessible. 🏘

Wednesday, I that @ModeShiftOmaha is asking the city to do more to prevent pedestrians deaths. Last night I went to another scene where a pedestrian was hit. This morning, it’s confirmed. In 20 days, Omaha has had 3 pedestrian deaths. #VisionZeroOmaha

I saw the pedestrian on 13th this evening. Drivers drive recklessly when infrastructure supports this behavior. When will Omaha invest in basic pedestrian safety, ESPECIALLY in late night business districts? Where is funding for #VisionZero?
Two pedestrians hit (by DRIVERS) in popular bar and restaurant districts tonight. Known areas of increased development with an abhorrent lack of pedestrian infrastructure - streets too wide, infrequent crossing opportunities. Where is funding for #VisionZero?
