So i just wanted to spread the word that there is much better performance overlay tool than msi afterburner, framecapx, FPS Monitor or any other competitor, chances are, that you already have it, so what's that and how to try it? A 🧵

In any case I highly recommend to check Mostly Positive Reviews video, where he tests more settings and presets on the high end PC of 2015 in Batman: Arkham night (GTX 980 + OC'd 4790k). End of🧵

And if you think "well why they don't do this more often?" While it is smart and good decision from the developers, it requires very specific theme and environment to make this happen. So that won't work for vast majority of other games.

Another thing that Batman: Arkham knight uses 100% static weather and lighting, meaning that everything is baked accompanied with other visual 'tricks' like constant rain at night with neon lights, so it pops a bit more and allows for maximum visual effect.

Other reviews retesting this game with 5090's and 9800x3d completely forget or ignore that these top tier components does the heavy lifting now and that the current day demanding games are in exact same spot or similar as Arkham knight was in 2015.

Mostly Positive Reviews released another hardware and game period correct performance review, which shows the true performance of its time. Don't get me wrong I love Arkham knight and i think it looks good for its age, but nothing is free. https://t.co/GOaLFVdvRh

The poster child of grifters - Batman: Arkham night. This game is commonly used with a false narrative, that games used to be: "Optimized and look just as good" It was the worst optimized game on PC in 2015 and while it looked impressive, no one could run it at stable 60fps.

I always find a bit amusing to see the internet game optimization discourse and then face the actual reality. Steam Top 100, from 2025 (best selling games by revenue) has been released and out of top 12 (platinum tier), two worst optimized games are there😁🤔

You simply *cannot* standardize memory configurations between different manufacturers and generations. That most often leads to skewed performance results and possibly incorrect conclusions. 2/2

Well said Danny, the longer I follow mainstream tech reviews the more radical I'm starting to become. At this point, basically 95% of mainstream reviews and reviewers are incompetent. RAM is *essential* part of the CPU and it's performance, each architecture is unique. 1/2

@facegamefps I laughed so hard at the morons benchmarking and reviewing arrow lake with the typical 6000CL30 AMDrone config. Like NO, that's not how that shit works, you're not even showing the full story there. Even on a 4-dimmer with regular UDIMMS, you can push it far beyond that.

"Steam Replay 2025" shows the median player only touched 4 games all year. Keep that in mind when you see gaming debates online, like here on X. Most people don't actually play the games they talk about, if any at all🙄 Just a food for thought...

This is actually really nice move from Nvidia, the 32bit removal wasnt as big as i thought it was at first, since only handful of games actually worth playing today were effected. I hope this change will apply to future RTX generations, maybe even few more tittles as well👍

It. Just. Works. Finale (1/10) I wanted to challenge the broad assumption that "Windows is trash" and "Linux is the best place to game" My position - performance is almost there in Linux but in most cases, Windows is better for the average gamer. Let's begin 🧵

This is really funny😂, another example that HUB doesn't have a clue about memory tuning and overclocking modern CPU's.🤦‍♂️ But ofc he's always first to mock it...

This then trickles down to software developers, "Your product is crashing! Lazy devs!". This is very common issue, people give negative reviews thinking that the software is buggy, but in reality it's not their fault. Ofc there are always exceptions, but it's a widespread issue.

As result of that there is a common misconception: "Manual ram tuning = unstable system/xmp = stable." Ironically the reality is often the other way around, people who take their time to ensure even *some* sort of stability are way better off than those who don't.

This is pretty good reminder that XMP does NOT guarantee stability, even if you choose ram kits from their respective QVL lists. People got brainwashed that it is the case, which causes even bigger issue, no one even bothers to stress test their RAM anymore.

DDR5 is unstable garbage. Max out your memory channels? Flaky. Temperature a bit too hot? Silent Throttle with no logs. Too “Dense” of a stick? Good luck training. Last gen was rock solid by comparison. Here's what happened.

Just finished watching Masters of the Air. My all-time favorite WWII mini-series are still Band of Brothers and The Pacific. But Masters of the Air is an amazing addition, highly recommend checking it out!
