Saturday 2nd Jan @ 19:35 BBC1 is our big #Casualty return. We all felt it is a story that needs telling: a well-researched & powerful account of an A&E department during lockdown. Sadly it seems more prescient now, with everything going on as it is. I really hope you enjoy it.

Thinking of our wonderful friends at our sister show #HolbyCity today. Filming all year round on a long-running drama attracts a particular type of person. Dedicated, talented, excellent at problem-solving & an upbeat, self-deprecating humour. Heartbreaking for everyone involved.

Congratulations #CallTheMidwife on your 10 year anniversary. Can’t believe it was 10 years ago I pulled up to Nonnatus House in my Austin 20! I remember reading the script & thinking I so hope the audiences enjoy this as much as I do. And boy did they!

To answer a query we keep getting at #Casualty. Yes Fenisha was pregnant for like a year. Nothing to do with us having to stop filming for lockdown & thus a very undramatic birth off screen. Actually because she has the gestation period of an elephant. Hope that clears that up 😜.
