Also consider this when sending coordinates to a 3rd party service (for example when reverse geocoding). You don't need to send them an 8+ digit coordinate, and there's a slight chance of supplying what is effectively uniquely identifying information if you do.

Finding the right balance between giving back to open source and open data while growing a for-profit business has probably been the most challenging and rewarding part of this whole adventure. We've learned a lot, even as the open source landscape has changed dramatically.
