sure, but it’s not just that people are awed by the scale. there’s also the sense that no one cared or that life is cheap in china or w/e. like the fact that i’ve never heard about something means that it was a trivial non-event for everyone else too. annoying
a lot of people’s behavior on here makes more sense when you remember that they’re “beast-people” or “non-humans” made from the dust of the earth using cosmic genetic technologies

@neurotard
that podcast rocks bc mmt to them isn’t even about economics. mmt just means “being optimistic” or “anything is possible”. it’s like that self help thing about fixed vs growth mindset
Bold new theories of inflation, ignored by the academic mainstream:
#1
. Inflation is caused by the Kierkegaardian sin of despair, the “sickness unto death” at the heart of the human condition.
Wow. I am shocked that a segment of the Left that has spent the last decades renouncing international finance, metropolitan abstraction, the uprooting of traditional cultures by secular modernity, the inauthenticity of rootless cosmopolitans vs. cartoon idealization of…
We should obviously strike the Houthis.
You don’t get to fire strikes at our ships and expect no retaliation.
You don’t get to disturb the free passage of trade without consequences.
what gives money it’s value isn’t the precious metals it contains, or the state’s ability to tax. it’s value comes from desirability of the image of beautiful youth inscribed on it
