Overall, chimeric transcripts are expressed at lower levels than non-chimeric transcripts, but, they contribute a median of ~38% of the total gene expression, and they also provide both DNA binding and catalytic protein domains.

10% of 𝘋. 𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘨𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 transcripts, across body parts and strains, are gene-TE chimeras and are abundant in head. We've found that 18.6% of body part specific transcripts are chimeras.

𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟯: Study of the association between structural, epigenetic and expression data. In this example we show a TE inserted in the promoter region of a gene, enriched in the silencing mark H3K9me3, leading to gene downregulation:

𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟮: Exploration of structural differences between.genomes. With this example we associate a CNV with gene expression changes. In genomes in which 𝘊𝘺𝘱6𝘢17 is absent (RAL-059 and RAL-177), the neighbor paralog 𝘊𝘺𝘱6𝘢23 shows increased expression:
