These cool-ish evenings require an insulated jacket for the water pump. Getting a little prep work done before moving the pairs to a fresh paddock.

Cow camera now officially creeping on the herd. I don’t believe they signed the disclaimer, but I think they’ll be thankful that the no water issues should be minimized🤗. Almost feels like I’m on holidays now.

A beautiful 🎃 day to move pairs to fresh pasture. Stuck them on a “mid-way” paddock for the night, with tender regrowth. They weren’t real eager to move this morning🥴. #happycows

Easy peasy. Bulls pulled in about 5 minutes flat👌. Big bush pasture and 150 pairs…caught them up at the waterer.😎 #trickster
First day I’ve seen a bull, without a harem of ladies-must be time to pull the bulls! #2cycles

Keeping tabs on individual cows calving intervals. Does it really mean much since we only breed two cycles? Prolly not, but I still find it interesting. #nerd

Back in the office this morning, after a much appreciated quick trip down to Minnesota for some single track shenanigan’s and camping.

Multi sire breeding groups-Why do we do it? It’s the true litmus test to uncover the most fertile, durable and capable herd bulls. AI and single sire methods are fine, but have no value when it comes to real genetic advancement for the commercial sector.

Three weeks ago I wrote this off and was thinking of turning cattle in to graze it. Never would have guessed it would have turned out like it has. Aside from the round leaf mallow pressure in areas, it looks fantastic! #cowchow Actually, #bulldeveloper chow. #swathgrazing

2003 Ever since that time, we adopted one very simple rule…that every cow must pay her way-every year. That single rule has shaped our genetic base of cows. No excuses, no second chances. At least in this business, you get to market your mistakes and sell them by the pound.
On a side note, pretty impressed how well these young ladies have done, out grazing with the cowherd since April. #consistencyiskey
