Falklands 43 years ago tonight we marched through darkness to Mt Harriet. With artillery support overhead I vividly remember looking into the eyes of the Marine by my side both of us not knowing what was to come. We then turned left and headed up the mountain & into enemy fire🫡

Falklands War 43 years ago tonight & just a few hours after this photo was taken, we were in the midst of a firefight on the foothills of Mt Harriet. The hill erupted in fire, tracer ricocheting off rocks as we skirmished forward to press the attack & identify enemy positions 🫡

This first attempt was thwarted. The following night we tried again this time successfully but we landed in the middle of a SAS firefight. We deplaned rapidly into an eerie darkness with a hail of tracer rounds splashing around as we took cover many miles inside enemy territory🫡.

Falklands War, 43 years ago tonight on our first attempt to move to Mount Kent, I remember sitting in the back of a blacked out helo, confined and strapped in, while the aircraft lurched sickeningly as the pilots fought against a blizzard - one of many anxious moments to come! 🫡

The Battle for San Carlos 43 years ago I lost count the number of times we took cover as the RN battled wave after wave of enemy fighter. After what seemed like an age & with some relief we boarded Landing Craft left behind the sea fight and clambered ashore onto the Falklands🫡
