The second @AIASF event was the community alliance awards which cost $100 to attend. The board tickets were comped. I am curious how much was raised and spent on the lunch vs how much the AIA financially supported direct community efforts.

The last @AIASF BOD meeting of the year took place in November where new members were invited. It was a very formal meeting including a gavel. New 2019 members did not get a vote, but we were not told ahead of time. Votes were taken by a vocal ya or nay.

The required membership to serve as the @AIASF associate director was $369 which I needed to pay before being voted in 2 months before the term. I could not participate without paying dues. The first business party where I was voted in cost $40.

To begin the experience I was not allowed to join as a public role because I have an M. Arch. This means anyone who has this degree but does not practice architecture is required to pay annual dues to participant in the board

I recently joined the @AIASF board of directors. I’ll be using my twitter feed to talk about my experience with a lens of equity as the AIA has a reputation of being an “old white bit club”. I’ll be talking about the details of path and sharing info I legally can.
