A highlight of my day yesterday was that the Uber driver who collected me from SAV airport to take me to my hotel had taken me on the same route a month ago! Her name is Brandy and it was great to catch up again. She even had Halloween candies (sweets 🇬🇧) for her passengers! 🥰

I got asked for ID in an Irish pub in Savannah last night by a 17-yr-old whose mum (it turns out) is four years younger than me. 😱

The #avgeek in me got super excited to have spotted this @AmericanAir aircraft with retro Allegheny livery in CLT whilst I was connecting. First time spotting it for me! Has anyone flown it?

I find that people in coach in the US tend to recline their seats even on short flights meaning I can’t use my laptop as the seat in front pushes the screen down too far in the tight space. Given I generally work, it’s such a waste of my time, hence my preference to fly up front!

I have no issue with flying further back in the plane but must admit that for short connections I appreciate being at the front so I’m not rushing or getting myself stressed! I also like the comfort of the seats up front when travelling a lot!

This flight was already pretty full when I booked it and so the upgrade price was over $300. It’s a 45 min flight and so I opted out on this occasion! My oneworld Emerald status gets me Main Cabin Extra seats for free so I got a decent seat over the wing next to the exit! 🙌🏼

Just to clarify… most of my domestic travel in the US is for work and I’m only allowed to book Coach (Economy 🇬🇧) seats. If I’m able to plan and book far in advance I can usually get an F upgrade that I pay for myself for a reasonably good price which I tend to do for comfort.

Fantastic flight down from JFK to CLT this morning with @AmericanAir. I’m now heading to Savannah on board this 25-yr-old Airbus A320-232 with reg N655AW operating as AA1424. There were no F upgrades left when I booked this flight so it’s an over wing for me today. Let’s fly! ✈️

Having been in and out of various hotel rooms these past few weeks, I’m feeling a little run down. I’ve reverted to my old Hong Kong behaviours and am wearing a mask as I’m feeling a bit sniffy. The guy next to me has already sneezed twice and rubbed his nose on his sleeve… 😷

I’m back down to Savannah for work for another week. The schedules have changed at LGA so I’m flying from JFK today. First flight of the day is to CLT on board this 14-yr-old @AmericanAir Boeing 737-823 with reg N822NN operating as AA2643. Let’s fly! ✈️ #avgeek

Good morning from the Soho Lounge at JFK T8. 👋🏼 It’s the weekend so I’m starting my day right with a glass of champagne… 🥂 @AmericanAir

Yesterday I brunched at Forsythia, a contemporary French bistro by Chef Christopher Kearse in Philadelphia’s Old City. I absolutely loved the perfectly folded scrambled eggs atop two massive potato rosti, cooked to perfection! Super cute vibe and friendly servers. #foodie

This afternoon I decided to educate myself at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia. Gosh, we Brits loved a battle, didn’t we?! 😵💫 I thought this statement was rather poignant as we head towards an election here in the US that seems to have the country divided…

I loved the vibrancy of the murals, mosaics, and also the bazaar/thrift store vibe. Lots of shops filled with knicks knacks! And, of course, a mural celebrating the Phillies, as the locals go nuts for their baseball team! ⚾️

Some super cute architecture and lots of colourful murals. I especially liked the mural by Kah Yangni called “We Are Universal”. It’s part of a partnership between Mural Arts Philadelphia and Resources for Human Development Morris Home who offer services for the trans community🏳️⚧️

I spend a lot of time in downtown Philadelphia for work but this weekend I decided to venture out to the Fishtown neighbourhood for lunch and a stroll. So colourful and funky!

Today I lunched at Suraya, an award-winning Lebanese restaurant in the Fishtown neighbourhood of Philadelphia. The flavours were magical, and definitely some of the best Middle Eastern food I’ve had in a long time. Love the Philly food scene! #foodie

Doctor said it came from overuse of the wrist. Honestly, I feel that at the moment I’m constantly lugging suitcases everywhere with me and hauling my carry on into overhead bins, almost always with the pressure on my left wrist, and so it’s no surprise really!
