Things I have really enjoyed the last few weeks — 1. Seeing @timheidecker live. 2. Finishing God of War Ragnarok 3. Eating as much Flamin Hot Cheetos as I possibly can. 4. Listening to @MrHolness Garth Marenghi's TerrorTome audiobook. 5. Wearing shorts outside again. 6. Cashews.

10/10 But I'm learning to embrace it, talk about it more openly & share. Anyone who thinks they might have ADHD, anyone who’s thinks their partner or friend has it, talk about it, talk about maybe getting assessed. It can really change someone’s life. #ADHD #neurodiversity

9/10 It helped to stop being so unbelievably hard on myself. It explained so much about my constant worrying about everything all the time (catastrophizing) which leads to my anxiety.

8/10 A month later, an official letter. Diagnoses - Adult ADHD. Inattentive & hyperactive domains. So I was living with ADHD all along. Being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult has been a really hard journey. 8/10

7/10 1 small chat on phone to a doctor, then fill in a form, then nothing for 6 months, then a letter to say I will have a phone call with a specialist in 6 months. After that another 6 months for a sit down meeting with another specialist.

6/10 The process to get diagnosed was very long. I decided to go through the NHS. It’s free, takes time but we both felt we had things under control, but still let’s get a diagnosed. Took about a year & a half, start to finish.

5/10 My response was always, its cause I’m dyslexic. She felt I had ADHD, which I took offence to & I ignored her. But reluctantly I decided to get assessed.

4/10 At 40 I had a child with the best person in the world, everything was great. But having a child u r balancing a lot of jobs & making quick decisions. My partner felt very frustrated in my seemingly ‘not listing’ 2 things we had 2 do, getting distracted on a simple task

3/10 I got assessed, & found out I did, mainly with ‘Short Term Auditory Memory’. This did help in the understanding how my mind worked, it made me realises this is why I struggled so much in school.

2/10 At 19 I studied graphic design in Uni, This was the first time in my life I felt I was ‘good’ at something. At 25, at very end of the course, one of the teachers, was the first person to suggest I may have dyslexia.

I’m a Mess or: My experience being diagnosed with ADHD. I always struggled in school, I had to repeat a whole year when I was 8. Feedback: ‘George is trying hard but needs to put in more effort’. 1/10

42 & I just got officially diagnosed as having ADHD. It’s been an emotional journey to get to this stage, accepting it all. I’m definitely gonna share some of my thoughts soon, (even if u don’t give a fuck) but I’m sure some would benefit from just some of my thoughts #ADHD
