Strong Alumni Communities can be a social model for the unity of the society and a factor for economic growth and development. This is based on the new Kenya Competency-Based Curriculum that strives to strengthen the development of the state and the nation.

Policy 3.13 (Pg. 25) of the Mentorship Policy highlights, schools should observe and institutionalize celebration of the mentorship day by having an Annual Alumni Day in their respective school calendars to support school-based mentoring of students. #AlumniAsMentors

Alumni groups have played a key role in supporting the government's full primary-secondary student transition. Rapogi Alumni have supported the construction of a 700 capacity bed dormitory, and Kisii Alumni have started the construction of 12 classrooms to decongest the classes.

Notwithstanding the level of satisfaction with the School, the institution still needs to translate this emotional attachment and desire to give back into actionable decisions. It needs to provide them the platform to express their love for their alma mater in concrete terms.

Overall satisfaction with the student experience, the school’s brand and its prestige, and active involvement in school and alumni affairs during the period of study engender an emotional attachment to the School, which in turn encourages students’ involvement after graduation.

According to Scott Gaier (2005): “Alumni who are highly satisfied with the academic system during their years of schooling are more likely to be involved with their alma mater than those alumni who do not have a high level of satisfaction with the academic system.”
