If feminism is about liberation, then it must defend plurality of outcomes, not prescribe a new hierarchy of “acceptable” dreams. Otherwise it quietly reproduces the same paternalism it claims to oppose—just with different values at the top.

The problem isn’t aspiring to marriage it’s restricting aspiration to marriage. Aspirations are not invalid because they are relational. Humans are social beings. Wanting partnership, family, or marriage is not evidence of false consciousness; it’s evidence of value preference.

People shut down when they believe the rules of engagement aren’t fair, the definitions keep shifting & disagreement automatically equals guilt. It’s not the principle of feminism they resist, it’s the experience of being asked to debate with their hands tied behind their back.
Something I find deeply frustrating is that even the most intelligent men I know become intellectually dishonest the moment the subject is feminism. They suddenly start arguing in bad faith, twisting points, ignoring CLEAR facts, or pretending not to understand simple things.

If marriage were truly male-beneficial, the behavior of men wouldn’t contradict it. Men are marrying later, less often, and with more caution than ever. People don’t avoid institutions that overwhelmingly advantage them. Men lose more post-divorce wealth, on average.
People act like marriage is a bed of rose when in reality it is mostly beneficial to only men.
