On my own behalf, on behalf of the staff in my office, and on behalf of the people of Migori County, I extend my heartfelt condolences to her husband, family, relatives, friends, and loved ones during this painful time of loss.

She was a warm, dependable, and selfless staff member who will be dearly missed by colleagues and the people she served.

Mrs. Dickens was a hardworking, disciplined, and committed public servant whose professionalism, humility, and passion for service greatly contributed to the work and vision of my office.

I am deeply saddened by the sudden demise of Mrs. Jill Dickens, a devoted and dedicated member of staff in the Office Of The Migori County Woman Representative.

As a people, we are reminded of the importance of preserving and celebrating our culture and heritage values that shape who we are, strengthen our shared identity, and continue to unite us as one community.

The 5th Edition of the Piny Luo Festival has officially drawn to a close in Migori County, culminating in a colourful and memorable ceremony graced by H.E. President William Samoei Ruto.

Beyond celebration, the festival offers a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the remarkable progress our community has achieved socially, culturally, and economically, while reaffirming our commitment to preserving and promoting our heritage for future generations.

These moments, deeply intertwined with the enduring legacy of Thim Lich Ohinga, reflect the Luo community’s long-standing traditions of kinship, settlement, and resilience.

This morning at Muhuru Bay, the atmosphere came alive with an exhilarating traditional boat race locally known as Kiewo Ngai / Kwang’o Yie alongside indigenous wrestling and other engaging cultural activities.

We are delighted to host H.E. President William Ruto at the 5th Piny Luo Festival, a vibrant celebration of our rich heritage and shared identity.

We sincerely appreciate the presence of Min Piny, Dr. Ida Odinga, whose attendance greatly enriched the significance of the event.

The occasion paid tribute to the lifelong contribution and lasting influence of the late Rt. Hon. Baba Raila Amolo Odinga, whose leadership continues to inspire generations.

The Piny Luo Festival 5th Edition Legacy Gala Dinner was a remarkable evening that brought together the Luo community in a spirit of togetherness, reflection, and pride.

The festival not only offered thrilling sporting contests but also served as a vibrant platform for cultural expression, drawing attendees from across the Lake region region & beyond to celebrate our rich heritage, strengthen social bonds, & promote tourism and youth engagement.
