the absolute worst outcome is when the group unconsciously begins to work to bring about the very situation it is afraid of, as an ultimate way to validate the anxiety

one bad outcome is when the group unconsciously develops the ulterior motive of giving everyone else the anxiety so that more of the social sphere feels safe (as invalidation of the anxiety is an existential threat to the ego)

a major mechanism in society, politics, human relationship is identification with anxiety and subsequent ego defense of the anxiety as valid. then people sort into groups by shared anxieties instead of based on shared positive qualities

a great way to do this is to start with an emotional sense that something is wrong. describe how you feel and any context that might be relevant. Then ask chatgpt to generate questions to investigate the details of how you feel. Answer all the questions, the ask it what it finds

helpful to stop assuming that a momentary occurrence means anything about the self, the future, the past, society, etc if you value liberation

there’s a frame of mind where one is trying to use others for validation that one belongs / is wanted / etc. in this frame one cannot make risky social moves because failure is construed to imply something about identity, belonging, the future, etc

worked really hard for the last six weeks with only two days off and it was actually pretty nice to be that motivated and engaged, even though I feel slightly like a walking corpse now
