2. Outsource. Just as my cleaner now washes the sheets, my VA handles publishing and distribution.

1. Reuse everything. Just like I wear the same jeans with a different top, I repurpose or update content I’ve already used for new audiences or platforms.

It piles up. And you feel overwhelmed. But it doesn’t have to be this way. If you get to that point, there are ways to relieve some of the burden. Here are 3 that have worked for me:.

For starters, you never feel entirely relieved after getting it done, because you know there’s always more waiting for you. There’s no way around it: you gotta keep doing it to stay fresh. And what happens if you ignore it?.

Going to take this approach and do something fun. I'll share the details—and my progress—as it comes together.

Putting in the hard work—the honest work—to get what you want or where you want to be is always going to be the hard part. It's easy to give up, pivot too quickly and not see things through. But it's the thing that consistently pays off.

I did extra chores around the house for a week and earned 200 pesos. I eventually managed to buy myself the candy. I learned my lesson at the time, but still catch myself thinking of ways to get that quick buck instead of putting in the honest work to earn it.

They found me sulking back to the house. I sought sympathy and forgiveness for lying and going out alone. I got punishment. Next time, my dad said, I should try earning my money instead of coming up with creative ways to make a quick buck (or peso, in this case.).

Disappointingly, the store was closed. And in the time that it took me to get down there, my parents had called the neighbors to make sure I had made over okay. When they found out I wasn’t there, they started looking for me.

With crayons and strips of colored paper, I forged my best peso. I lied to my parents and said I was visiting my friend next-door. I then marched my little legs down to the corner store with a backpack full of counterfeit cash, confident I had outsmarted everyone.

A little corner store at the end of my block was the closest thing we had to a grocery store. It sold drinks and snacks and tortillas. I only was interested in the candy. But refined sugar was a limited substance in my house. So, I had to figure out how to get it myself.

I was living in Mexico at the time. My mom, an American expat. My dad, a Dutch immigrant. We lived in a developing neighborhood on the lagoon opposite Cancun’s hotel zone.

I've decided I'm going to be a positivity pirate. I will be relentlessly and obnoxiously positive. And that's what I will do. #feelgoodfriday.
