According to one analysis, the Andrews government introduced 63 new and increased taxes, fees and charges. Victoria is the basket case model, to which other states and the feds themselves appear to be following Ultimately the Feds will bail out Victoria. Then which we all pay

Yeah, interest alone ….😬 And devalue their credit rating and the interest bill increases due risk margin. But governments are good at cost shifting. For eg, the Minns government is keen to take on Sydneywater balance sheet to maintain their credit rating.Just sayin’ @abcnews

Interesting that the Country Hour played an excerpt from Peter Cullen ( who died almost 20 yrs ago) before the advent of permanent nut plantations. Prof Cullen also conceded late in his professional career that annual crops are prob better suited to Oz climate.🤷‍♂️ @abcnews

A really fun day celebrating the Country Hour’s 80th Birthday. Rupanyup turned it on (except for the phone signal for a little bit) and we had a ball.

Why are house prices so high? Why government spending throws methanol on the economy? And why interest rates will rise. But when.

Suppose that once a week, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to £100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this: The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing. The fifth would pay £1. The sixth would pay £3.

People at the @abcnews are cooked. Scrutiny and criticism of @RBAInfo rather than the underlying causes of inflation. The RBA does analysis and has only one monetary lever in interest rates. The RBA does not set fiscal policy. How about government scrutiny on spending/taxation?
