We're putting a new roof on Holy Family Cathedral in downtown Tulsa. It's quite the undertaking. The community is looking forward to a new, beautiful copper roof by Christmas!

Unofficial deacon stats from the @DioceseofTulsa:. We have 102 deacons. The average age at ordination is 52 years old. Of those 102 deacons, 43 were under the age of 50 (42.1%) and 9 were under the age of 40 (8.8%) at ordination. We have 6 deacons in their 40's (5.8%) and 1.
A recent report found that of the 13,864 permanent deacons in ministry in the US, fewer than 4% are under the age of 49, and fewer than 1% are in their 30s. But some of those young deacons believe their youth offers a unique asset.

While a parishioner was trying to convince a family to come to our church, one of the arguments he used was that, “this parish has way more people who own chickens than where you go.”. I think it worked.
