My latest thoughts: I think efficiency is killing passion. Everywhere we want to hack processes, but when we hack our passion and art, we stop being artists and become factories. Not everything should be hacked. https://t.co/tpgIFSqiYK

What's annoying about the BAFTAs controversy is the fact that in 2026, people STILL have to complain first for basic human decency to be upheld. We will blame institutions but people run these institutions, and if these people unable to see nuances in 2026 then we're a long way.

2/3 For Africa, owning the story isn't a luxury, it is the front line of our sovereignty. We must recenter the African voice in the global debate. For too long, we’ve been the subjects of the story rather than its authors. To be seen as strategic agents, we have to speak.

1/3 Working with the UN has taught me that humanitarian work is about more than logistics; it’s about the infrastructure of truth. In an era where mis- and disinformation are used to "cook" the global narrative, words are our primary tools to re-humanize our people.

The BBC’s decision to cut this section of Akinola Davies Jr’s speech when the #Baftas was broadcast later in the day is shameful. Thank you Akinola Davies Jr for using your platform to speak out for the rights of migrants and people facing and fleeing from persecution and mass

Imagine my shock coming onto this hellsite to read writers saying expecting novelists to read novels is ableist. Writing is not a necessity for any person. It is not a job you do just to put food on the table. Writing words that will live forever is a privilege. Getting people to
