Hey guys. Some of you are already aware that I'm currently taking a break from blogging, but I'm still constantly receiving submissions and DMs, so I wrote a blog post about the current status of Fog Songs, and some of my personal thoughts about it.

I deleted that tweet from yesterday. I thought that saying that stuff out loud would make me feel better, but it had the opposite effect. I'm sorry to those who had to read it. For those who didn't see it - I was basically saying that due to a major crisis in my personal life.

It's going to take a while to recover, so please bear with me. I had a bunch of reviews already written before my "break", which I still intend in publishing, and I've got lots and lots of music to catch up on, whenever life becomes more manageable. .

It's been a very difficult summer. My personal life is currently an ugly mess. I was betrayed by someone very close to me, and I'm broke and sick with depression, and my world has fallen apart. .

There's so many great independent artists/bands/labels out there who are desperate for some exposure, many of whom I simply I don't have the time and energy to write about, because it's spent on those that don't give a shit.

100%. When I write about your music and you don't acknowledge and/or share it, I assume that you either don't like my writeup (which is totally fair enough) or you don't want/need the attention and exposure. Either way, I'll never write about you again. .
Dear artists, if someone writes about you, a retweet or share is appreciated. It helps the site to grow, which means we can help more artists. Your fans might do the same. The relationship is symbiotic. I refuse to write further articles about artists that won't do this.

I was sad to see a lot of negativity towards Bandcamp Friday yesterday from small artists & labels. I know @Bandcamp aren't perfect (who is?) but they're BY FAR the best independent music platform on the Internet, and Bandcamp Fridays are an amazing thing for artists. .

I know it's really difficult for small artists to get heards these days, but please don't make me feel guilty and shitty for not writing about your music. Music blogging is a lonely and thankless task. Please show some empathy and understanding.
