In 2015, Tyler responded to a fan who was upset that he didn't make albums like Goblin anymore. He expressed he was depressed back then (2011) and is in a different space now. He also said "it would be sooo sad if i was making the same album over and over again."

When I heard "Hey Jane", I immediately thought about J Cole's "Lost Ones" Both are about an unplanned pregnancy from a man and woman's perspective. I like both; it's one of my favorite J Cole songs, but I thoroughly appreciate the care Tyler took with the writing for his song.
