My JUCO coach used to say “When you’re struggling at the plate, keep your hands up and work down. 99.9% of the time you’re missing under”

@MrPlowSD Different, but similar.. the ball doesn’t care if you’re in MLB, you gotta get the barrel out or you’ll be popping up to RF all the time.

@flowsdoc I slowed it down. He is getting pushy and clipping the ball. This will result in a swing short in the zone, resulting in pops with low ev, high launch, high spin. Essentially, he is not releasing the barrel.

@flowsdoc Head is moving way to much changing his eye level, when his head is still he rakes and eyes don’t move. Ball doesn’t jump around when head is still with minimal movement.

@flowsdoc I never realized (don't pay attention to Mookie enough) - that's a hell of a lot of moving parts that need to stay in sync. Shows how insanely athletic he is. And also why he's struggling rn.

@flowsdoc Or, move in on the plate. I have found that you're less likely to pull off the ball. It's almost like you hit the ball before it hits you. It's a feel vs. real thing.

@flowsdoc Mookie is clearly working on something. You clearly don’t have a clue. Pro tip: he’s working on heads and hands for splitters. Vs Gausman…. You ignoramus.

@flowsdoc Never understood why guys drop their hands if they're just gonna bring them back up anyways.
