iOS app icons will benefit from being reconstructed in Icon Composer with separate layers groupings, specular highlights and shadows. macOS app icons will have to adhere to the squircle canvas and needs to be redesigned with this new constraint.

Apple is shifting all app icons to the new Liquid Glass style in iOS & macOS 26 in a few weeks. Most existing icons will need updates or redesigns and I think this is a great opportunity for a lot of devs to revisit their most important visual asset.
